For our first… lecture? Our starting points were: Asking a Question/Trying to answer a question.
We traveled around a big room filled with individual images and text relating to certain historical matter or person that happened or existed within the time frame we were discussing. We learned a lot about the Pre-raphaelite Brotherhood and how they introduced a different lighting style to the art word, the three Charles: Charles Baudelaire and his dark and dirty poetry including the poem ‘The flowers of evil’ but I personally love some of his quotes for example “One should always be drunk. That’s all that matters…But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you chose. But get drunk.” The second Charles we discussed was one of my favourite writers Charles dickens and his many books! The final Charles we talked about was Charles Darwin and his effect on religion with his studies of natural selection which I thought was really interesting. The whole point of the… Lecture, was to basically ask questions! To understand the idea of equality and diversity within the time frame and to also reflect on the topics discussed. It was a unique and fulfilled way to learn and remember almost everything mentioned and I really enjoyed it.
